Clearance Process
Reed beds were first harvested to provide clear access before sediment removal began. This created sufficient working space while minimising disturbance to surrounding habitats. Sediment was pumped behind a permeable membrane constructed over a timber and soil bund. As material settled and drained, the process was repeated over several days to maximise sediment removal.
Project Outcome
Many tonnes of accumulated sediment were removed, restoring water depth, improving water movement and creating healthier conditions for aquatic wildlife.
