Wetland Vegetation Management in Wales

19 February 2024, Wales — Canal & River Trust

Background

Several wetland areas had experienced extensive reed encroachment, reducing open water and making routine maintenance increasingly difficult.

Management Works

Truxor equipment was used to selectively harvest dense vegetation while maintaining existing habitat structure and avoiding unnecessary disturbance to sensitive areas. Strategic clearance created open channels and viewing areas while maintaining healthy reed margins for wildlife and natural regeneration.
