Why Regular Desilting Matters

14 November 2024

Natural Sediment Build-Up

Silt gradually accumulates in almost every waterbody through natural processes including erosion, leaf fall and decaying vegetation. Left unmanaged, this build-up reduces water depth and can contribute to declining water quality.

Benefits of Early Intervention

Removing sediment before excessive accumulation develops is often significantly more cost-effective than undertaking large-scale restoration works. Regular maintenance also improves drainage performance and helps maintain healthy aquatic ecosystems.

Modern Desilting Methods

Modern amphibious machinery allows sediment to be removed from areas that would otherwise require expensive access arrangements or traditional excavation methods, reducing disruption while improving efficiency.
